Mimi Jones honored at Celtics game Feb 2nd

Mimi Jones, a BPAF Board member, a long time Roxbury resident activist and community builder, a  founder and  leader of the “Friends of the Library” organization for the Dudley Sq. Branch of the Boston Public Library, and a Boston Historical Society member, was honored as A Hero Among Us, by the Boston Celtics at the home game with the Atlanta Hawks  on  Friday, Feb 2nd. The game was televised and aired on the NBC Sports and the Comcast 48 channels..The segment was also aired during the Post Game Show.  Mimi was featured in Clennon  King’s recent film about the bloody civil rights struggle in St Augustine FL-A Passage at St. Augustine. She is widely recognized as having been “a foot-soldier” in that important struggle, and in the Albany GA civil rights struggle.
